Children’s Ministry Pastor/Director
The Children’s Ministry role primarily manages one core program by providing spiritual, relational, and strategic leadership for Sunday School (birth through Grade 5). This program meets weekly during regular Sunday services and serves approximately 150–175 children. It is supported by a team of 40 volunteers each week and utilizes The Amazing Life curriculum to create Christ-centered, age-appropriate learning environments.
This role is responsible for creating age-appropriate environments that foster learning and spiritual growth while providing oversight and direction for children’s spiritual experiences. This includes Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and special programming during Christmas and Easter that allows children to prepare and share a meaningful presentation with adults during the main service. The Children’s Ministry Leader collaborates closely with volunteers, teachers, and assistants to ensure each child is welcomed, taught, and cared for in a Christ-centered environment.
Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated experience working with children, and prior experience in Children’s Ministry is preferred. Equivalent education or a relevant college degree may be considered in lieu of ministry experience.
This is a full-time, exempt position compensated on a salaried basis. The role includes a defined minimum starting salary within a broader compensation range. Final salary and job title will be determined based on the candidate’s education, relevant experience, and ordination, licensing, or credential status.
Normal working hours are Sunday through Thursday; however, these rhythms may shift as the Children’s Ministry team faithfully walks alongside children and their families, particularly for special events and opportunities to be present in the life of the church and community. Flexibility is expected as part of shepherding children well and engaging meaningfully in their world.
